Gaza - Ma'an - A Palestinian youth was killed and many others injured when an Israeli drone shelled a residential area near Sheikh Zayed Towers east of Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday morning.

Our Gaza correspondent reported that an Israeli reconnaissance plane launched a rocket at a group of Palestinian armed resistance men who were confronting the invading Israeli tanks, east of Beit Lahiya. One of the men, Muhammad Jerjawi, 19, was killed and many others were injured.

In another development, eight Palestinian students were injured by Israeli forces who were raiding the northern Gaza Strip.

Dr Moawiya Hassanain, from the emergency and first aid department in the Palestinian ministry of health, said that eight Palestinian boys were injured while on their way to school when Israeli forces shot a round of bullets at them. Two students were transported to hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip while the others were treated in the field.
