About Me

I'm described as a "Terrorist, homicidal fanatic and extremist fundamentalist"- but who believes government reports anyway?...(oops, wrong file, thats my psychiatric report!)

Anyways, In short: I love Allah, love to laugh, love to live, love to learn and love to love!

I reverted to Islam when I was 14, but in the absense of any muslims to guide me- I did not become fully practising until I was 18, but I never let obstacles get in my way; then my life changed dramatically, Islam opened up a world of possibilities to me and I learned what it is to think clearly, rationally and without prejudice in my life.

Allah granted me many blessings, now my duty is to return to Him in gratitude by becoming all I can become and by fulfilling my covenant to Him in all things I do.

My only sole desire in this life is to live for the Deen, fight for the deen and die for the Deen.

And what other nobler cause is there then to remain steadfast to the truth after it has be revealed to you?

I'am a guy who strives not to judge others and but to help as best I can anyone that needs it. On the day of judgement, all human beings will come before their lord, stripped of their wealth, rank, status and fancy clothes- on that day, only righteousness can clothe us, sincerity give us status and compassioante action enrich us.

I'am far from perfect, but Allah (swt) is never far away from my heart.

Interests

I love classical (islamic) Arabian culture, its music, artistry, dress style and nobility of character it was associated with. I love giving dawah (as is so evident!) and I love the literary arts, I write books, newsletter articles and leaflets. I also love writing poetry when I get the time (and more importantly, the inspiration!). Inshallah come visit me and my mates at hyde park, speakers corner every sunday & on Saturdays at Hounslow high street outside near Treaty centre & most other islamic events/marches and demos happening in london.

Favorite Movies

Currently, its 'Syriana' (a sad film but true) and 'V for vendetta'(if anyone has seen the film- thats what I call making your voice heard in parliament!)

I also love knogdom of heaven, for its fair(ish) portrayal of muslims during the crusades.

But my favourite is 'Arabian Nights'- beautiful, atmospheric, mystical, funny, romantic, adventureous- and the movie's good too :P

Favorite Books

Quran (naturally) first and foremost, it is the mother of all other books, since millions have been written throughout history because of it. I read alot so other than the Quran, it would be hard to say one.

Like all different kind of books, can't really say what my most favorite one is- but the topics I like include: sociology, psychology, theology, philosophy jurisprudence, economics, politics and history and andalusian poetry- to name a few. Like alot of fiction, but must be deep and not rely on just wowing the reader with gratuitous writing.

A Poem I wrote about Women in Islam : Jan 7, 2007

A Woman's Dua

Glory be unto you that made kindness to me a worship for men.
Glorified is the created but glorious is the creator.
You have ordained for me crowns of cloth and silk that men may recognise my majesty.
I’ am enthroned upon their shoulders by your command.
They shall enter my presence in humility.
Provision is my tribute from them.
Respect is my due.
With life and blood do they guard me.
I’ am a protected treasure, of shrouded light, safe from those who would plunder me with their gaze.
You have made me a cradle of life, honoured and sacred.
Why should I be bound in shackles of forged whim and social expectation.
When being true to who I’ am You have promised me Your Face.
You have given me my rights in a world that would usurp them.
Though voices of men are louder and heavier.
Praise be unto You that have given unto our speech an equal weighting.
Exulted am I above men, that I possess honour beyond need of earning.
For Nobility is my birthright.
By their deeds, I shall recognise the virtuous amongst men.
By their faults, I shall see their humanity.
For those judged worthy and noble- shall I burden them with a sweet taste.
A mercy and love ordained; shall be our exchange.
A worship of You manifest.
A sweet fruit; tasted but never touched, consumed but never eaten.
Tasted by the senses and consumed by the heart.
I’ am a taste of paradise incarnate.
A reminder of divine mercy.
Precious life shall be our gift.
Thus, glorified shall we be anew.
By those seeking shade underneath my feet.
By those who would call me mother.
